I’m the founder of Shift with Sarah, a registered nurse with over 10 years in healthcare, and I’ve been sober for more than 9 years.

For years, I struggled with addiction, self-doubt, and toxic relationship patterns. Even after getting sober and rebuilding my life, I was blindsided by something I never expected to be so powerful: a trauma bond. I was educated, self-aware, and resilient—and it still completely took me down. I couldn’t logic my way out of it. I couldn’t willpower my way through it.

That experience changed everything.

My personal transformation was so profound that it inspired me to dedicate my work to helping other women navigate the same confusing, painful place. I immersed myself in understanding trauma bonds, the nervous system, and why capable, intelligent women can feel so stuck—and what actually helps them break free.
